Max Blair takes the checkers for his $15,000 midweek victory.
What won the race: Seizing the lead from Drake Troutman on lap 85 and then surviving a two-to-go restart challenge from Michael Norris, Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., captured Tuesday's Yinzer 100 at Lernerville Speedway. The 36-year-old Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series regular beat Norris to the finish line by 1.201 seconds to earn $15,000.
Quotable: "At the beginning I was just conserving for a while because I felt like Drake (Troutman) and Dave (Hess Jr.) both were using their stuff up pretty good, it looked like, so I was just gonna ride till lap 50 or so," Blair said. "Then the 8 car (Max McLaughlin) kind of run me over going into three, and that got me a little excited and got the blood boiling for a minute and I got up on a wheel there for a while. I calmed myself back down, and at the end there I think I just had more tire left than what Drake did and we were just a little bit better across the middle once that top got all the way out there and so treacherous."
Key notes: The seventh-starting Blair reached second behind Troutman on lap 41 when Dave Hess Jr. slowed. The winner patiently dogged Troutman until finally diving underneath the pacesetter entering turn three to gain command on lap 85. … Norris, who rallied from the rear after a lap-14 pit stop to change a tire, inherited second when Troutman, who led laps 2-37 and 41-84, retired on lap 94. A lap-98 caution gave the hometown driver a shot at Blair, but Norris said he "probably just used my stuff up" charging through the field and settled for second. … Blair registered his sixth overall victory of 2026, including a $20,000 RUSH Crate Late Model win in June 27’s Bill Emig Memorial 50 at Lernerville. … Tyler Wyant ran in the top five most of the way and finished third. … Max McLaughlin led the race’s opening lap and finished fourth in his Lernerville debut. … Hess led laps 38-40 but slowed on the backstretch to draw a lap-41 caution; he refired his car and continued, climbing back to third before a blown right-rear tire forced him to make a pit stop on lap 98 and left him seventh. ... Coming off a career-richest win in Sunday’s Country Roads 100 at Tyler County Speedway, Levi Yetter retired running sixth during the lap-37 caution period with smoke wafting from his car. … Gregg Satterlee climbed as high as fourth before slowing on lap 59. He pitted to change rear tires and finished sixth. … Eight caution flags slowed the race, but only one came after lap 63. Joining Hess and Satterlee in triggering yellows were Colton Flinner (lap five), Ken Schaltenbrand (slid off track on lap 14), Alex Ferree (flat on lap 37), Lincoln Smith (over berm on lap 39) and Boom Briggs (tire on lap 63). … The feature lasted nearly 57 minutes and nine cars were running at the checkered flag. ... John Garvin Jr. and Chad Shearer scratched before heat races.
On the move: Ryan Montgomery of Fairmont, W.Va., started 16th and finished fifth.
