What won the race: Polesitter Tad Pospisil of Norfolk, Neb., overcame several cautions and restarts to lead all 25 laps in winning Friday's Malvern Bank East and West Series co-sanctioned event at Thayer County Speedway. Pospisil outran points leader Blair Nothdurft by multiple lengths for the $5,000 payday, the richest series race at Thayer County.

Quotable: "We just went back to our notebook from last year, we were really good here," Pospisil said. "I thought it was gonna be a lot different coming out (earlier) in the sun, but the track must’ve bled back through here and we really didn’t change anything all night. The car’s just spot on."

Fourth-finishing Jason Hahne fought off Kyle Berck on lap-21 and lap-23 restarts before Jesse Sobbing slipped by Berck on the final lap, dropping Berck to sixth. ... Second-starting Jadyn Friesen held the runner-up spot in the opening laps before slipping to finish eighth in his second career series start. ... J.C. Wyman climbed seven spots to place ninth. ... The race was slowed five times, the first three involved Troy Daly and Kale Kosiski; the two drivers tangled in turn two for the opening stoppage on the third lap before Kosiski had a solo-spin in the same spot on lap 16. ... The most serious incident came on a lap-16 restart attempt when Daly made contact with Mike Collins, sending Daly hard into the frontstretch wall and upside down at the entrance of turn one; he wasn't hurt. ... Seventh-running Jacob Hobscheidt slowed and retired on lap 21 before Bill Leighton Jr. had a turn-four spun on lap 23 for the final yellow flag.
