Key notes: The Jay’s Automotive United Late Model Series concludes its Fourth of July weekend with Sunday’s 41-lap, $4,100-to-win 10th annual Mike Farr Memorial at Eriez Speedway. … The event honors Stephen “Mike” Farr of Erie, Pa., a former competitor at Eriez before transitioning to co-owning his business, Genesis Shocks; Farr helped NASCAR teams and local racers, but never forgot his former competitors in the Western Pennsylvania area. He died on Oct. 7, 2016, at the age of 65. … It was originally scheduled as a quadrupleheader weekend before Saturday’s $10,004-to-win Jason Dunham Memorial rained out at The Dirt Track at Genesee in Batavia, N.Y. … Drake Troutman of Hyndman, Pa., won the weekend's first two rounds, collecting $6,000 on Wednesday at Mercer (Pa.) Raceway Park and $3,000 in Friday’s Genesee opener. … Dave Hess Jr. of Waterford, Pa., has won 13 Eriez specials dating back 15 years, including May’s Andy Kania Memorial after Max Blair was swept up with a lapped car while leading, combining to collect more than $60,000 over that span. … Blair, of Centerville, Pa., is fresh off his first career Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series victory Saturday night at Muskingum County Speedway in Zanesville, Ohio, worth $25,000. Blair has nearly 30 major wins in the last 18 years at Eriez, collecting more than $110,000. ... More than $3,300 in lap-leader bonus money will be paid courtesy of several sponsors. … 604 RUSH Crate Late Models, modifieds, stock cars and econo mods are on the undercard. … Pits open at 3:30 p.m. and grandstands open at 4:30 with on-track action at 6:30.
