What won the race: Polesitter Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., capped a perfect evening with a commanding flag-to-flag victory in Saturday's 30-lap MARS Late Model Championship Series-sanctioned fourth annual Red Hill Rumble at Red Hill Speedway. Feger, who lowered the track record in time trials, beat Dylan Thornton to the checkers by 1.739 seconds for the $5,000 payday, his 38th career MARS victory and second of the season.
Quotable: “This thing ran really strong and we’ve been really good at Red Hill the last four or five times we’ve been here. It was a lot of fun and being out front is real important,” Feger said. “The car was really good, it’s the first time we’ve been here on Ohlins (shocks) and, man, the car just felt so stable here, they definitely suit this place really well. The car was a joy to drive, I can’t say enough about my crew busting their butts. We’ve had a tough season so far, but we’re righting the ship here.”
Key notes: Feger nabbed his second MARS victory of the season, adding to his May 22 triumph at Davenport (Iowa) Speedway. ...
