What won the race: After fending off multiple challenges from Jason Welshan near the midway point of the feature, polesitter Jimmy Elliott of Cleveland, Tenn., streaked to the $2,000 victory in Friday night’s United Championship Racing Alliance sanctioned Bama Red Line Oil Dual at Fort Payne Motor Speedway. He took the checkers ahead of Jason Cardwell and Jeremy Holtzclaw.
Key notes: The United Championship Racing Alliance headed to Fort Payne for its third race of the season, the first night of a weekend doubleheader that includes a Saturday visit 75 miles south to Talladega (Ala.) Short Track. … Sam Seawright of Rainsville, Ala., and Jason Trammell of Knoxville, Tenn., were winners in the tour’s first two events, with Seawright winning at Fort Payne and Trammell winning at Tazewell (Tenn.) Speedway following the disqualification of Brian Smith of Barbourville, Ky.
