Mike Spatola picked up his second straight ALMS victory.
What won the race: Fourth-starting Mike Spatola of Manhattan, Ill., topped second-starting J.R. Hotovy of Hartford, Mich., for $2,000 and his second Sunoco American Late Model Series victory of the weekend. Spatola took the lead from Hotovy amid traffic on the 22nd lap. Curtis Roberts of Coleman, Mich., started and finished third in the 30-lapper
Quotable: “This car has been great all year,” Spatola said. “Hotovy and I had a great, smooth race. Running second is where you want to be when the lapped traffic comes into play. I was able to use that to my advantage tonight to get a win."
Key notes: Spatola also won Friday's event at Kankakee (Ill.) County Speedway, which featured both ALMS East and West competitors. ... The feature wrapped up just before 9 p.m. Eastern. ... Plymouth hosted its first series event since switching to dirt from pavement.
