What won the race: Polesitter Brad Mueller of Random Lake, Wis., inherited the lead when the two leaders tangled on a lap-20 restart, allowing him to pace the final five circuits and win Sunday’s King of the Park crown with the DiscountShopTowels.com Dirt Kings Tour at Angell Park Speedway. He earned $1,250 in taking the checkers ahead of Brett Swedberg.
Key notes: The victory is the second of Mueller's Dirt Kings career; his first came in 2017 at Wilmot, Wis. ... Brett Swedberg of Shawano, Wis., claimed the runner-up position with a last-lap pass, crossing the finish line 1.956 seconds behind Mueller. ... Series point leader Ron Berna of Shawano, Wis., finished fourth. ... Nick Anvelink of Navarino, Wis., led the first 19 laps before tangling with Mitch McGrath of Waukesha, Wis., on a lap-20 restart. Both retired. ... Sunday's feature, the second-ever visit to the Madison, Wis.-area oval for the Dirt Kings Tour and the first since 2017, was slowed by two separate incidents and lasted 19 minutes, with eight drivers completing 25 laps. ... The race was shifted to late summer after originally being scheduled for July 11.
