What won the race: The only Florida Late Model Challenge Series event at East Bay Raceway Park in 2020 saw Nevin Gainey grab his second series victory of the season Saturday night at the Tampa-area racetrack. The 2018 series champion earned $1,000 in claiming the seventh series victory of his career and his second on the series at East Bay.
Key notes: Gainey led every lap in winning his second straight series event. He also won June 20 at North Florida Speedway in Lake City, Fla. … Series points leader Adam Bedenbaugh finished second to Gainey for the second straight race. Bedenbaugh, winner of the tour’s season opener at All-Tech Raceway in May, logged his third straight top-two finish. … Phillip Cobb was running second when he spun to cause a lap-nine caution. … Travis Varnadore also spent time in the second spot, but he left the race midway through, handing the position to Bedenbaugh. … The only Florida Late Model Challenge Series event at East Bay Raceway Park in 2020 saw Nevin Gainey grab his second series victory of the season Saturday night at the Tampa-area racetrack.
