Curless taps Bluegrass mod standout

Modified standout Cole Falloway of Owensboro, Ky., is making the move to Dirt Late Model racing in 2027, joining East Moline, Ill.-based Curless Motorsports with plans to enter many of the region’s biggest events and most of the MARS Championship Series schedule, the 23-year-old announced Friday.

The 2025 DIRTcar modified driver’s ascension comes amid a successful campaign with MyRacePass crediting him with 14 victories in 52 feature starts.

His wins include the division’s portions of the Prairie Dirt Classic on July 25 at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway and the Dirt Track World Championship on Oct. 24 at West Virginia Motor Speedway. He’s second in the DIRTcar UMP modified national standings, 42 points behind Mike McKinney.

“While preparations are still in the early stages, our anticipated schedule includes many of the region’s biggest events, along with the majority of the MARS series schedule,” Falloway said in a social media statement released. More details will be announced.

Last season's MARS modified champion, Falloway finished second to Michael Ledford by 55 points this season while winning eight of the tour’s 18 features. He won 20 times in 66 feature starts in 2025, including five of nine starts during Volusia Speedway Park’s DIRTcar Nationals last February.

The Curless team fielded a car for Caden McWhorter, 20, of Fairbury, Ill., in 2026 before the two sides parted ways mid-season. Garrett Alberson made a guest appearance in the team’s No. 99 machine at the PDC. Drivers making stints with Curless include Jeff Larson, Mike McKinney, Dillon McCowan and McKay Wenger.

“We can’t thank the Curless family enough for this opportunity and their confidence in us,” the statement continued. “We look forward to working together and representing Curless Motorsports throughout the upcoming season.”
