Drivers will target WWS ax-throwing bonus
A new ax-throwing promotion for January's Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout will pay an extra $300 to a driver in each of the week’s 18 multidivisional features at Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, Ariz.
The Blaine Brothers Bullzeye Bonus, sponsored by the Blaine, Minn., transportation company, will give each night’s Super Late Model feature winner a chance to hit the bull’s-eye and pick up an extra $300 along with the night’s modified and B-mod winners. Surrounding the bull’s-eye will be areas representing feature positions 17-24 and if the ax lands in one of those positions, those finishers in the night's three features will collect an extra $300. If the ax throw misses the target altogether or bounces off, the 24th-place finishers receive the bonus.
“I have been attending the event for the last five years, and I have enjoyed each year,” said Dean Dally, Chairman of the Board at Blaine Brothers. “The number of racers in attendance makes for very good racing and we wanted to help by adding our name to the great list of sponsors supporting the event.”
The Wild West Shootout runs Jan. 9-10, 13, 15-17 with Super Late Model commitments from Bobby Pierce, Hudson O’Neal, Brandon Sheppard, Tyler Erb, Ethan Dotson, Cade Dillard, Nick Hoffman and more. Tickets are on sale at wildwestshootout.net.
