Lernerville general manager steps down
Greg Geibel, who spearheaded the expansion of the Dirt.tv streaming network during three years as general manager at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa., is stepping away from the role in a departure the track described as amicable in a Wednesday press release.
“Managing a venue with the prestige of Lernerville Speedway and launching the Dirt.tv platform to where it’s at has been the privilege of a lifetime,” Geibel said in the release. “I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Tomson family, our dedicated staff, the drivers who put on a show every single week, and the most passionate fans in dirt racing. The track is in fantastic shape and I look forward to watching its continued growth.”
In a statement on the news release, the track-owning Tomson family “extended their sincere thanks for the departing manager’s dedication, stewardship, and contributions to maintaining the high standards of excellence established by track founder Don Martin.”
Along with expanding the track’s streaming network Geibel’s management stint oversaw the establishment of September’s midweek Yinzer 100, a $15,000-to-win event for Super Late Models, among other physical improvements — pit expansion, addition of a rodeo area and mezzanine overlook in turn tour — at the 4/10-mile oval where Super Late Models have long been among weekly divisions.
The track hopes to name a replacement as soon as possible. Potential applicants should call (724) 353-1511 or email team@lernerville.com.
