WoO sets Upstate New York swing for ’27
The World of Outlaws Late Model Series this morning announced plans for its first multiple-race visit to upstate New York dirt tracks in a dozen seasons with a three-race spring weekend in 2027.
The May 14-16 stretch pays $20,000-to-win per race from $240,000 in total purse money starting at Mohawk International Raceway in Hogansburg, N.Y., for the World of Outlaws Battle of the Eastern Door. The weekend continues at Can-Am Speedway in La Fargeville, N.Y., with the Islands 50 and concludes at Weedsport (N.Y.) Speedway with the World of Outlaws Finger Lakes 50.
The national tour, which completed a series-high five New York races in 2005, has run 38 events at New York tracks in the tour’s modern era but only two over the past five seasons.
Mohawk has hosted a single WoO race in 2010 while Can-Am hosted 2009-10 events. Weedsport (pictured) has run four WoO events in 2006-07 and 2015-26. — Spence Smithback
