ROSSBURG, Ohio — Nick Hoffman of Mooresville, N.C., is joining Spire Motorsports as the organization’s full-time Dirt Late Model driver in 2027, he and Spire co-owner Jeff Dickerson announced today at Eldora Speedway ahead of the World 100 weekend.

Hoffman, second in the World of Outlaws Late Model Series standings, departs Tye Twarog Racing's No. 9 operation at the conclusion of 2026 with his final race in the FloRacing Night in America event Nov. 14 at Senoia (Ga.) Raceway. Hoffman, 34, debuts the No. 7 Spire entry at December's Gateway Dirt Nationals in St. Louis, Mo.

“What Nick brings to the whole program, like I put in the press release, Nick’s a unicorn,” Dickerson (pictured at left with Hoffman) said. “You get somebody who builds chassis, who knows how to race, who builds teams and operates teams. We don’t make this step if we don’t have Nick Hoffman.”

Driving for Twarog since 2023, the longtime modified standout established himself as one of Dirt Late Model racing’s stars. In 2026, he owns six WoO victories, 36 top-five finishes and 42 top-10s through 45 series starts. He finished fifth in the tour standings in 2023, third in 2024 and second last season.

The move to Spire puts Hoffman close to Spire’s NASCAR operation in Mooresville. Spire, which fields three full-time NASCAR Cup Series entries, has expanded its presence in dirt racing over the last year. The organization has fielded Dirt Late Model entries on a part-time basis, primarily for Cup Series driver Carson Hocevar, while also fielding a full-time sprint car on the High Limit Racing tour for Giovanni Scelzi.

“For me, trying to elevate my career, this is the next step,” said Hoffman, who will be joined by crew chief Scott Fegter and race out of his Mooresville shop. “This is the best year I’ve ever had in Dirt Late Model racing, by no surprise, as far as statistics and everything. Everything has gone great for me. I’ve said it many times: I never planned on leaving Tye Twarog until this opportunity comes up to better my family, better myself, better my future. And open up different doors to help my career.”

Hoffman said the Spire team is undecided about whether to follow the World of Outlaws or Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series next season.

Meanwhile, Twarog is “looking for the best opportunity for my team and sponsors,” he told DirtonDirt.

“I'm proud of the fact that my team was able to elevate Nick to the level that a huge opportunity came his way and we are very proud of what we have accomplished with him,” Twarog said. “I’m excited for the future of Tye Twarog Racing. I’m blessed to be surrounded by the best people in life. I truly believe God will lead us to the right path in life.”
