Wild West start money gets boost
The Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts in 2027 has raised its minimum start money to $1,000 per race, promoter Chris Kearns (pictured) announced. The previous minimum at the six-race miniseries was $600 for 24-car fields at Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande.
“We are always trying to up our game,” said promoter Chris Kearns. “We want to make the Wild West Shootout a better event every year we come to Arizona. Our goal is to give back as much as we can to the racers who make the trek out here.”
Winter race dates are Jan. 9-10, 13, 15-17. The opening round pays $25,000-to-win followed by four $10,000-to-win events and a $50,000-to-win finale. Practice nights are Jan. 8 and 12. Find more details and tickets at wildwestshootout.net.
