Attica's Iron-Man race to pay $15,049
Attica (Ohio) Raceway Park will pay out its richest-ever Dirt Late Model purse Sept. 4 with the Stephen Wagner Memorial’s purse upgraded to $15,049-to-win and $549-to-start for the Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series.
Wagner’s son Noah Wagner announced the upgraded purse on Thursday's Hammer Down Racing Report for the race originally scheduled to pay $7,049-to-win on Attica Ambush night with the All Star Circuit of Champions sprint cars also in action.
The second annual event pays tribute to Stephen Wagner of Fremont, Ohio, a former team owner and avid racing fan who died April 3, 2025. Wagner also participated resurfacing projects at Attica and Fremont Speedway in 2024.
Wagner fielded 1992’s World 100 ride for Larry Scott of Grand Rapids, Ohio, who also captured back-to-back Johnny Appleseed Classic features in 1986-87 in Mansfield, Ohio.
