Record purse set for Seitz Memorial
The 20th annual John Seitz Memorial comes with the richest purse in event history with the top three Late Model finishers earning more than $9,000 for the Sept. 11-12 event at River Cities Speedway, the Grand Forks, N.D., track announced today
While the winner will pocket $9,292 in the event honoring the late Bemidji, Minn., driver of the No. 92, the second- and third-place finishers will earn $9,200 in making the event among the richest WISSOTA Late Model races of season.
The weekend is preceded by Sept. 10’s Northern Late Model Racing Association finale with the Prelude to the Johnny paying $2,092 in concluding the series schedule.
Friday's preliminaries include heat races and a dash for the Late Model division with Saturday’s consolation races followed by the 92-lap finale.
The Late Model main event purse pays a record $58,920, up from the usual $45,010. The 20th anniversary event carries the special purse for podium finishers, but plans are to return to the original payout next season.
