One of the three members of the Snyder County Dirt Management Group will individually continue promotions of Selinsgrove (Pa.) Speedway next season, the track announced this afternoon.

Colin Rice, who for two seasons has operated the half-mile oval with partners Paula Schick and Jenna Mowery, said he agreed to a three-year lease to operate the track beginning in 2027. All current divisions, which includes Super Late Models and Limited Late Models, will continue, Rice said, with Steve Paige and Blane Heimbach staying on board to prepare the racing surface.

“Having spent nearly every day at the speedway for two years, dedicating countless hours to its success, I could not stand by and watch it decline,” Rice said in a statement on the track’s Facebook page. “My decision to move forward is rooted in my passion for this speedway and my belief in its future.”

The Selinsgrove Fair Board announced earlier this week it was seeking a new promoter after the current promoting trio couldn’t agree on a lease extension. The board required a three-year lease but Schick and Mowery didn’t want to commit beyond one year, Rice said in his statement.

Rice thanked his partners “for their dedication and hard work” and wished “them nothing but the very best.” The trio’s current lease lasts through December and plans are to complete the season’s final three months.

The fair board praised the “outstanding job” of the current promoters and said among its “primary goals has been securing long-term stability for the speedway. It is difficult to continue building and growing the facility when there is uncertainty each year about whether the lease will continue. A longer-term agreement allows for better planning, investment, sponsorship opportunities and continued improvements.”
