Highland acquires Peoria's MARS date
The MARS Championship Series has replaced its cancelled Sept. 19 event at Peoria (Ill.) Speedway with a race at Highland (Ill.) Speedway. The race remains $5,000-to-win. Highland's May 16 series event rained out. MARS officials also announced that the May 29 rainout at Paducah (Ky.) International Raceway won't be rescheduled.
Among other Dirt Late Model schedule changes:
• June 27's rained out $10,066-to-win event at Thunderbird Speedway in Muskogee, Okla., was rescheduled for July 31; the event is tri-sanctioned by the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series, Nutrien Ag Solutions Revival Super Dirt Series and Ross Foundation Sooner Late Model Series.
• The Cagle Automotive Blue Ridge Outlaw Late Models events scheduled for July 3-4 have been postponed by forecasts for excessive heat. Friday's event at Carolina Speedway near Gastonia, N.C., was rescheduled for July 24 and Saturday's race at Lake View Motor Speedway in Nichols, S.C., was reset for Aug. 15.
• The first year Dirt Outlaws Racing Series has added a July 18 event at Pine Ridge Speedway in Guntown, Miss. The race pays $2,000-to-win.
