Activities planned for Oldfield event
Oakshade Raceway’s Barney Oldfield Race this year is in conjunction with activities at the Museum of Fulton County & Welcome Center celebrating the late Indianapolis 500 racer and Wauseon, Ohio, native.
The Barney Oldfield Day Car show is planned at the museum with the first 100 entries receiving a Barney Oldfield Dash Plaque. There will be a special unveiling of one of Oldfield’s helmets, showings of various Oldfield movies, pinewood derby and rubber duck races and food available for purchase. The museum is open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. with the $5,000-to-win Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series event at the track in the evening.
Those planning to attend can go to the museum website and print a special Pit Pass to be stamped by Fulton County businesses. Turn in the Pit Pass at the June 20 event to be eligible for prizes drawn at noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Visit museumoffultoncounty.org for more details.
