With widespread thunderstorms expected to bring heavy rain to the Eastaboga, Ala., area on Friday night and into Saturday, officials from the World of Outlaws Late Model Series and Talladega Short Track have agreed to cancel this weekend’s Alabama Gang 100.

The decision was made in consultation with Precision Weather Service, prioritizing safety and the best interests of teams given the high costs of travel. The event, with $12,000- and $25,000-to-win events, won't be made up.

The WoO circuit is scheduled for its next action with a trip to the Midwest, visiting Independence (Iowa) Motor Speedway on April 28 and Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., for April 30-May 2’s Dairyland Showdown.
