Late Models powered by GM’s CT525 engine have landed a place in October's World Short Track Championship at The Dirt Track at Charlotte, giving the event a third division of Late Model-style cars.

Competitors in the 525 division will chase a $8,000-to-win purse, which matches the purse for the 604 Crate Late Model division. The 602 Crate Late Model division pays $3,000-to-win during the Oct. 29-31 event in Concord, N.C.

The event’s 11th running includes an event-high 10 divisions overall at the 4/10-mile oval. In another change, competitors will be split for opening day action to run a pair of semifeatures. Payouts exceed $200,000 for the event with more details to be announced.
