Timm ends sophomore bid on WoO tour

Austin Bumgarner

Citing financial constraints, Jake Timm of Winona, Minn., announced Wednesday he’s ending his full-time bid on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series during his second season on the national tour.

The 29-year-old, who has a single top-five finish in WoO action since joining the circuit last winter, posted on his team’s Facebook page that he doesn’t plan to compete in the tour’s weekend action at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Miss.

Calling it “a dream come true” to run the circuit, Timm thanked his “great fans, sponsors, my team and family for their support. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity I’ve had over the last year.”

Timm added that because of “rising costs within the sport, specifically those of a full national tour, it is no longer a sustainable path for our team to be competitive. We have decided to change course and run an open schedule for the remainder of the season, focusing on events that make sense for our team while still competing at a high level.”

Timm, who has made 71 career WoO feature starts from 2019-26, stood 10th in 2026 standings with a single top-10 finish in 10 starts. In finishing third in WoO’s rookie points last season, he finished 12th in points overall with one top-five finish and six top-10 finishes in 35 starts. His best career WoO performance came in a home-state run at Ada’s Norman County Raceway, where he finished fifth on June 28, 2025.

Timm hasn’t won in the Late Model division since an Aug. 18, 2023, victory at Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wis., on the Wabam Dirt Kings Tour, where he owns four career series victories.

Timm plans to announce more details about his 2026 schedule later.
