Hometown company Machine Construction Co. has added sponsorship of Friday’s Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series event at Penton (Ala.) Raceway to boost the winner’s purse to $5,000, up from $4,000.

Penton hosts the first of two weekend events on the Ray Cook-promoted tour with North Georgia Speedway in Chatsworth, Ga., set for Saturday’s $5,000-to-win event.
