Fairbury announces new staff members

joshjamesartwork.com

Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway president Matt Curl today announced the addition of new staff members, facility upgrades and the quarter-mile oval's 2022 special event schedule.

Gunner Sullivan, who has worked in several capacities at the track previously, will serve as the track’s new full-time director of business development, focusing on the fan experience and day-to-day projects, beginning with fine-tuning a new ticketing system. Roger Stryker also joins the staff to support Curl in track operations and will begin his duties winterizing track equipment and overseeing a track drainage project.

“I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to have these two guys on board as members of the Fairbury Speedway family,” Curl said. “It’s a win-win situation for me to have people like Gunner and Roger. Their involvement will elevate our team and allow us to grow with our industry-leading race programs.”

Chad Bauman will step away from his weekly track prep duties but will continue to assist in a hands-on advisory capacity along with former track engineers Randy Rhoads and Steve Ricketts, Curl said.

Off-season projects include the completion of a new office complex encompassing a ticketing center, media center, first-aid station, business center and hospitality area that will help make Fairbury "one of the elite motorsports complexes in the country," Curl said.

Along with its annual DIRTcar Summer Nationals stop (June 18) and the World of Outlaws-sanctioned Prairie Dirt Classic (July 29-30), among special events revealed are the upgraded FAL Spring Shootout set to pay $30,000-to-win on May 14 and the Oct. 7-8 FALS Frenzy on Oct. 7-8, which offers a $5,000 bonus to any driver that can sweep $5,000- and $15,000-to-win main events. The track's complete schedule, including regular $2,500-to-win FALS Cup events for DIRTcar Late Models, will be announced later at fairburyspeedway.com.
