WVMS Racefest now Saturday-Sunday
Hoping for drier weather, this weekend's Racefest World Championship at West Virginia Motor Speedway in Minerals Wells has been shifted to a Saturday-Sunday schedule.
The weekend action, which includes $5,000- and $15,000-to-win events co-sanctioned by the Valvoline Iron-Man Racing Series and Zimmer's United Late Model Series, was originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday. • Saturday's FUEL-sanctioned event at Fayetteville (N.C.) Motor Speedway was called off due to rainy conditions and will not be rescheduled.
• Facing a wet forecast, both Friday and Saturday events on the City Chevrolet Thunder Series at Harris (N.C.) Speedway were postponed until Nov. 5-6. The Friday, Nov. 5 race will pay $2,000-to-win, with the Nov. 6 race paying $3,000-to-win.
• Friday's opening night of the FALS Frenzy weekend at Fairbury (Ill.) Speedway was rained out. The $5,000-to-win event will not be made up, but Saturday's $15,000-to-win finale remains on as scheduled.
• Friday’s Red Clay Series event at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tenn., was rained out. Series officials hoped to find a replacement race if possible.
• Thursday's Ultimate Heart of America Roger Breeding Memorial at Mountain Motorsports Park in Isom, Ky., was rained out; no makeup date was immediately announced.
