Cash Money opener now set for May 9
With the coronavirus pandemic bringing dirt racing to a virtual halt, the Dirt Track Bank Cash Money SuperDirt Series has cancelled its first three events.
The races on the Missouri-based tour for Limited Late Models were originally scheduled for April 10-11 at Humboldt (Kan.) Speedway and Springfield (Mo.) Raceway and April 25 at Salina (Okla.) Highbanks Speedway. The tour's third season is now tentatively scheduled to open May 9 at Springfield.
Among other schedule changes connected to the pandemic:
Peoria Speedway: April 11's Steve Lance Sr. night, highlighted by a $5,000-to-win MARS Racing Series event, has been postponed to May 16. To make way for that event, the May 16 MARS event at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway was cancelled.
Jackson County Speedway: The Ohio track's May 8 Steel Block Late Model Series event has been rescheduled for June 26.
Senoia Raceway: The Georgia track has cancelled events through April 11 with plans to return to action April 18 for the $10,000-to-win Spring Classic on the Schaeffer's Spring Nationals tour.
