MLRA Spring Nationals cancelled
Facing forecasts for wet and cold weather, the Lucas Oil Midwest LateModel Racing Association cancelled April 13-14’s MLRA Spring Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., the series announced.
MLRA’s next event is April 20 at Davenport (Iowa) Speedway, which hosts a $5,000-to-win event the night before a $10,555-to-win series event April 21 at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. Visit mlraracing.com for more series information.
The weekend's other weather-related postponements of special events:
Cotton Bowl Speedway: Citing a saturated pit area, officials were forced to cancel Saturday’s Southern Texas Late Model Series race at the oval east of Austin. No makeup date was announced.
Greenville Speedway: Saturday's MSCCS event was cancelled with no makeup date announced.
Belle-Clair Speedway: Friday's Shamrock 40 on the Midwest Big 10 Series was postponed; no makeup date was immediately announced.
Davenport Speedway: Friday's $5,000 Deery Brothers Summer Series opener at Iowa's Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds was postponed; the track plans to rescheduled the event but no makeup date was immediately announced.
Tri-City Raceway Park: Saturday's Zimmer's United Late Model Series event in Franklin, Pa., was postponed to April 29 as the third-race of a season-opening tripleheader weekend at Thunder Mountain, Port Royal and Tri-City.
North Georgia Speedway: Track and Chevrolet Performance Series officials agreed to cancel Saturday's event at the Chatsworth, Ga., oval; Friday's event at Boyd's Speedway in Ringgold, Ga., was boosted to $2,500-to-win.
Correction: Fixes that Lucas Oil Speedway's weekend wasn't MLRA's season opener.
