From series reports

CASPER, Wyo. (Aug. 20) — Eddie Kirchoff of Gillette, Wyo., a step toward another Colorado Late Model Association DIRTcar touring championship on Friday with a victory at Casper Speedway. Kirchoff earned $1,200 and stretched his points lead over Scott Lewis of Henderson, Colo., who finished third.

Kirchoff rallied from his sixth starting spot for the victory while fourth-starting Eric Mass of Rapid City, S.D., was the runner-up. Lewis, who started outside the front row, was third followed by polesitter Roy Spielman of Mills, Wyo., and Morris Oberle of Lead, S.D.

Kirchoff's victory was the 17th of his CLMA career, moving him into the all-time lead over Brett Hallmark of Grand Junction, Colo., the 2002-03 series champion who hasn't raced in recent seasons.

Notes: Kirchoff's MasterSbilt Race Car is powered by a Jay Dickens engine and sponsored by QTM, K&K Import Repair and BSB Mfg. ... Kirchoff has six CLMA victories in 2010. ... Kirchoff won the 2007 CLMA championship. ... CLMA wraps up the season Saturday at Kirchoff's home track of Gillette Speedway, where an anonymous sponsor has placed a $500 bounty on his head for any driver who can beat him while he is still running at the finish. "It might make for a little rougher show than usual," Kirchoff said, "but that's a good way to get people to race a little harder. I think it's a great idea. As long as we put on a good show for the fans, that's all I care about; the fans are what makes the race possible."
