FAIRBURY, Ill. (May 2) — Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., won at Fairbury American Legion Speedway on Saturday for his fourth career victory on the Northern Allstars Late Model Series. The third-starting Feger, who turns 31 on Thursday, earned $2,000 for his victory in the Larry Nourie Memorial, a race honoring one of Fairbury's long-time fans and supporters. | Slideshow

Reigning Northern Allstars champion Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., finished second after starting on the pole and leading the first eight laps with seventh-starting Kevin Weaver of Gibson City, Ill., third at the quarter-mile, black-dirt oval. Eric Smith of Bloomington and fast qualifier Daren Friedman of Forrest, Ill., rounded out the top five in the 30-lapper.

Organizers of the Larry Nourie Memorial boosted the start money to $500 to each feature starter and provided several giveaways and prizes in tribute to their friend who died March 17 at age 57 of heart-related problems. Nourie was a former crew member for several teams, including former driver Bryan Dunaway. ... Darin Friedman's lap of 12.355 seconds established a track qualifying record and earned him a $500 bonus. ... Donny Walden of Towanda, Ill., the night's second fastest qualifier, started on the pole of the third heat but finished last in the prelim. ... Among other drivers missing the feature lineup: Brent Kreke, Jim Felker Jr., Rocky Griffin and UMP weekly points leader Jason McBride of Carbondale, Ill. ... Steve Sheppard Jr. scratched from time trials. ...
