NORTH VERNON, Ind. (April 18) — Capitalizing when a deflating tire hampered race-long leader Don O'Neal, fifth-starting Justin Rattliff of Campbellsville, Ky., led the final three laps at Twin Cities Raceway Park for a victory in the season-opening event on the O'Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass DirtCar Series. Rattliff earned $3,000 for his second career series victory while O'Neal, of Martinsville, Ind., was able to hold onto the second spot. | Slideshow

O'Neal started on the pole and masterfully moved through lapped traffic before his right-rear tire began deflating the final 10 laps of the race. Rattliff made the winning pass to lead the 38th lap and went on to win in a brand new race car. Steve Barnett of Franklin, Ind., finished third followed by Kevin Claycomb of Vincennes, Ind., and reigning series champion Victor Lee of Stanford, Ky., who rallied from his 13th starting spot.

Notes: Rattliff's Rayburn Race Car has a Pro Power engine and sponsorship from Rattliff Motor Sales, Campbellsville University, Budda Transmission Sales and B&W Auto Salvage. ... The race's lone caution appeared on the 11th lap when Chris Combs got into the frontstretch wall. ... The April 19 event at Brownstown (Ind.) Speedway was rained out and reset for May 10. ... Rattliff headed to Florence (Ky.) Speedway, where he won.
