FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (Aug 1) — Rain arrived on the second lap of the feature Saturday night at Fayetteville Motor Speedway, postponing the Carolina Clash Super Late Model Series main event until Aug. 14.

Steve Blackburn of Greensboro, N.C., was leading fast qualifier Timmy Blackwell of Gray’s Creek, N.C., during a lap-two caution when steady rain turned into a torrential downpour.

Rain stopped nearly an hour later and the track was working to get the surface back into shape when more rain 25 minutes later forced the postponement.

The race will resume on the second lap on Aug. 14.
