From series reports

LAKE CITY, Fla. (Sept. 6) — Polesitter Mark Whitener of Middleburg, Fla., ran virtually unchallenged at North Florida Speedway in racing to his second United Dirt Late Model Challenge event of the season. Whitener, whose previous series victory came in April at East Alabama Motor Speedway, earned $3,000 for winning the caution-plagued event.

Johnny Collins of Jacksonville, Fla., finished second after battling much of the race with fast qualifier Tyler Ivey of Tallahassee, Fla., who spun in turn four on the final lap and ended up 14th. Keith Nosbisch of Valrico, Fla., was third followed hometown driver Adam Bedenbaugh and Rich Pratt of Anthony, Fla., who rallied from the tail after being part of an early incident.

Notes: Roger Crouse of Plant City, Fla., rallied from 15th to finish sixth. ... Patrick Williams celebrated a birthday by returning to the series in the No. 38 Scott Thompson car. ... Brandon DeWitt, who finished seventh, earned hard charger honors. ... Up next for the series is a Sept. 13 event at Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Ga.; after that, the series goes to East Bay Raceway Park near Tampa, Fla., where they've added a $3,000-to-win event on Sept. 27.
