From series reports

FARMER CITY, Ill. (Sept. 4) — Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., solidified his Monster Midwest Tour points lead at Farmer City Raceway with a $5,000 victory in the Farmer City 50. Feger started outside the front row and led all the way for his series-leading sixth victory.

Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, Ill., who started sixth but slipped back a few spots at the outset when he jumped the cushion, rallied back to second while eighth-starting Ryan Unzicker of El Paso, Ill., second in series points, was third. Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., was fourth and Rodney Melvin of Benton, Ill., rounded out the top five.

The event was slowed by two cautions, the first for a spin by Steve Sheppard Jr. on the first lap which caused a pileup. Another yellow on lap 39 involved Darren Miller, fast qualifier Billy Moyer and Sheppard, who ran second early in the race.

Notes: Feger's Pierce Race Car is sponsored by SVC Construction, Advanced Racing Suspensions, Pro Tire and Automotive, Mulligan's, Campbell Construction and La Bamba. ... Eric Smith of Bloomington, Ill., third in series points entering the event, dropped out of his heat race with mechanical problems and missed the feature. ... Among other drivers failing to make the feature lineup: Kevin Weaver, Brian Shirley, Richie Hedrick, Mike Glasscock, Jeep Van Wormer, Chris Dick, Russ Adams and Mark Burgtorf. ... Darren Miller of Milledgeville, Ill., who finished 10th, was making his first start in a major event since mothballing his racing team in March because of financial problems. ...
