Feger outruns Erb for fourth Monster Midwest victory

KANKAKEE (Aug. 14) — Third-starting Jason Feger of Bloomington, Ill., tracked down fellow second-row starter Dennis Erb Jr. of Carpentersville, Ill., and took the lead at Kankakee County Speedway for his series-leading fourth Monster Midwest Tour victory of the season. Feger, who won his fourth consecutive start overall going back to Aug. 7, earned $2,000 and the series points lead for the victory. | Slideshow

Erb settled for second with Ryan Unzicker of El Paso, Ill., in third. Mike Provenzano of Grand Ridge, Ill., and Kevin Weaver of Gibson City, Ill., rounded out the top five in the 40-lapper at the quarter-mile oval. Two cautions slowed the action, both in the first two laps.

Notes: Feger's Pierce Race Car is sponsored by SVC Construction, Advanced Racing Suspensions, Pro Tire and Automotive, Mulligan's, Campbell Construction and La Bamba. ... Feger won the first heat despite losing the pole position when officials swapped the first- and second-row starters because of unsuccessful starts. ...
