What won the race: Dominating the 35-lapper from outside the front row, Rusty Schlenk of McClure, Ohio, captured Saturday's Barney Oldfield Memorial at Oakshade Raceway for a $5,000 Valvoline American Late Model Iron-Man Series victory. Schlenk captured the 37th version of the track's traditional race, winning it for the seventh time by taking the checkers more than 12 seconds ahead of runner-up Steve Kester.
Key notes: Schlenk has won 17 career Oakshade specials going back to August 2008, earning more than $65,000 over that span. ... His first Iron-Man victory of the season was the 41st of his career. ... The lone caution flew early when Colin Shipley, the previous week's winner at Oakshade, spun in turn one. ... Schlenk had a half-track margin on the field by lap 22. ... Runner-up Steve Kester took the second spot from polesitter Colten Burdette on the 30th lap. ...
