Devin Moran gets rolling ahead of his Florence feature victory.
What won the race: Sliding by Josh Rice on the 19th lap, third-starting Devin Moran of Dresden, Ohio, fended off a mid-race challenge from Dale McDowell, then held off Rice to win Saturday's 50-lap Hunt the Front-Northern Allstars Late Model Series co-sanctioned feature at Florence Speedway. Moran beat Rice to the line by 0.527 of a second for the $20,000 payday and his first career victory on both HTF and NALMS tours.
Quotable: “My guys have just been working through the adversity and they gave me a really good racecar tonight. I knew at some point Dale (McDowell) was gonna be coming on the bottom and I knew at some point Josh (Rice) was gonna be coming on the top,” Moran said. “I just felt like I had a good enough racecar that I could go wherever I needed to with it, without a doubt.”
