Coming home from an AAU basketball tournament two weeks ago, my 11-year-old son and I were talking over the day’s events. His team finished second in the tournament, falling in the championship game to a team that was far superior athletically.
As we talked, I told him that, all in all, it was a pretty good day. The team went 1-3, and made the finals. He quickly said, “No dad, we won two games.” Oh, how fast we forget. His team, the Raiders, didn’t win two games, it just felt that way.
