Lacki wins Northeast finale as Scott gets title
EAST SMETHPORT, Pa. (Sept. 25) — John Lacki of Sinclairville, N.Y., rallied from his ninth starting position into the lead on the fifth lap and won the 25-lap Fall Classic at McKean County Raceway, the finale on the Fastrak Northeast Series.
Series points leader David Scott of Garland, Pa., finished just 22nd, but his points lead was big enough to survive and wrap up the title on the Crate Late Model tour.
Lacki took the lead from Bobby Powell and led the final 21 laps for a victory over runner-up Bud Watson, who took the second spot from Powell on the 11th lap. Powell was third followed by Mike Blose and Josh Holtgraver. Max Blair, who finished second in the series points chase, was ninth.
