EAST SMETHPORT, Pa. (Sept. 20) — Reigning series champion Boom Briggs of Bear Lake, Pa., opened McKean County Raceway’s Fall Classic weekend with a $3,000 victory on the NDRL's ULMS Racing Series. | Slideshow

Briggs, who started outside the front row, took the lead from polesitter Dylan Yoder of Selinsgrove, Pa., on the eighth lap and never looked back en route to his seventh career series victory.

Third-starting Chad Hollenbeck of Kingsley, Pa., was second and seventh-starting David Scott of Garland, Pa., was third while Dan Stone of Thompson, Pa., and series points leader Mike Knight of Ripley, Pa., rounded out the top five.

Yoder lost a potential second-place run when he got loose and nearly spun in turns three and four with two laps remaining, slipping back to sixth at the finish.

Matt Urban's lap-11 spin in turn two brought out the 30-lap feature's only yellow flag.
