What won the race: Fending off a challenging Rick Eckert late, Jeff Rine of Danville, Pa., soared to a $4,000 victory in Saturday's 35-lap Late Model National Open at Selinsgrove Speedway. He took the checkers 0.527 seconds ahead of Eckert.
Key notes: Rine registered his sixth career win in Selinsgrove's National Open, which was originally scheduled to be a World of Outlaws Morton Buildings Late Model Series event before the coronavirus pandemic shuffled schedules. ... It was the first victory of 2020 and the 110th of his career at Selinsgrove for Rine, a 12-time track champion. ... Eckert overtook Satterlee for second on lap 31 and drew close to Rine with two laps to go before jumping the cushion entering turn one, surrendering vital distance that he couldn't make up. ... Fast qualifier Hayes Mattern retired early on lap 22 of the feature along with Randy Christine. … The 22nd running of the Jeff’s Auto Body & Recycling Center Late Model National Open os part of the Slivinski Law Offices Super 7 Series. … Modern Heritage paid $100 for fast time and heat winners picked up $100 (courtesy Modern Heritage, Lyons Auto & Truck Center and other associates). … Andrew Yoder of Middleburg, Pa., pocketed $1,200 for winning the Limited Late Model feature.
