What won the race: Capturing his series-leading seventh victory, Cade Dillard of Many, La., soared to the $5,000 payday in Friday night’s Louisiana Late Model Racing Series event at ShowTime Speedway.
Quotable: “I had some really good cars starting in front of me, but this hot rod was on point for the feature, and we got the job done," Dillard said. "The $5,000 top prize was really nice, but it was especially great to have so many family and friends there with us. This coming weekend we’re back on the road with the Outlaws, so this was a nice shot in the arm as we get back to the national grind."
Key notes: ShowTime Speedway hosted the Louisiana Late Model Series for the fourth time this season. ... This was Dillard's second win at the Many, La., oval this year. … It’s the tour’s richest race in 2019 thus far as the 40-lapper got a boost from $2,000-to-win to $5,000-to-win thanks to S&S Fishing and Rentals.
Winner's sponsors: Dillard’s MB Customs Race Car is powered by a Clements Racing Engine and sponsored by S&S Fishing & Rental, Production Jars, Joel’s Auto Sales, Nichols Stores, KRD Pumping Services, Bryan Cook Trucks, Abilene Race Rads, Awalt Hot Oil Services, Jody’s Oil Field Service and Kuda Kutrite.
Points chase: Before the event, Robbie Stuart (875 points) of DeRidder, La., led Brandon Hightower (785), Rob Litton (745), Morgan Bagley (635) and B.J. Robinson (595).
