CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (June 20) — Rick Rogers climbed the frontstretch fence at Crossville Raceway after finally breaking through for his first career victory on the Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series. Starting outside the front row, Rogers led all 40 laps and earned $3,000 for outrunning polesitter Joe Armes of Petros, Tenn., and Ray Cook of Brasstown, N.C. for the victory. | Slideshow

“Man this has been a long time coming," said Rogers, who finished second in series points in 2007. "I’ve been trying to get one of these things for a long time. I want to thank all the guys that help me every week and for sticking with me. Thanks to Bill and Karen Webb, Sanford (Goddard) and Warrior Race Cars. ... We’re shooting for this Championship this year and this win will really help us."

Notes: The winner's Warrior Race Car has a Vic Hill Racing Engine and sponsorship from BKW Disaster Recovery and Greenville Forrest Products. ... The Shoney's Restaurants Night of Thunder & Destruction drew 32 drivers from six states. ... Six cautions slowed the action. ... Tyler Landers advanced from 24th to 11th to win Phoenix Conversions Hard Charger honors. ... Among drivers failing to make the feature: John Gill (who scratched from his consolation race), Junior Brown, Tim Damron, Bryan Hendrix and Brian Hickman, whose car was heavily damaged in a consolation race accident.
