Tucson Winter Extreme pay-per-view FAQ

Frequently asked questions about DirtonDirt.com's live pay-per-view production of the Jan. 12-20 Winter Extreme at Tucson (Ariz.) International Raceway:

Where do I find the live video?: Click this link.

What kind of pay-per-view packages are available?: Click this link.

What will I get if purchase the pay-per-view?: Multicamera coverage of every lap of Late Model and modified racing with prerace and postrace shows, driver interviews and more. We expect to provide more than 24 hours of live coverage. You'll also have the opportunity to chat with other viewers.

How much does it cost?: $30 for a package of the final three days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) for DirtonDirt.com subscribers (or $16 per event); $35 for a package of the final three days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) for non-subscribers (or $16 per event). You'll need a credit card at our ordering page to select your package.

Is my computer capable of receiving pay-per-view?: If you have a high-speed connection and you're typically able to view videos online, you're set. Computers 5 years old or newer with recent software shouldn't have any problems.

Is it just like watching TV?: For the most part, although you computer screen is likely a bit smaller and the picture isn't quite as a sharp as some television broadcasts. As long as you have a steady high-speed internet connection, you should be able to watch smooth video throughout each night's program.

Is the live production available on mobile devices?: A computer and full web browser may provide the best experience, but most smartphones and tablets, including iPhones and iPads, can be used as well.

What's the racing schedule?: All six events include complete programs for Late Models and modifieds (along with lower divisions). Hot laps, heat races, consolation races and features make up the programs.

What time does the production begin?: Live video begins about an hour before scheduled start times (all times Mountain). Scheduled start times: Saturdays 3 p.m., Sundays 1 p.m. Wednesday and Friday at 6:15 p.m.

Can I watch from work?: Maybe not. Many places of businesses use security firewalls on computer systems that prevent live video. If you receive a server message (something like rtmp://dirtondirt.streamguys.com:80/live) it's likely a firewall issue. Most home networks won't have such firewall issues.

Who will be announcing?: Chris Stepan, the voice of Winter Extreme, will do play-by-play while Ben Shelton will be roving reporter. They’ll co-host the pre-race show.

Who is doing the production?: DirtonDirt.com co-founder Michael Rigsby will oversee a specially assembled production team that brings extensive broadcast experience. Jay Williams of Parker Street Productions is directing with assistance from Steve and Will Gigeous of Sports Plus Video, DirtonDirt.com contributor Webb Dillard and DirtonDirt.com staffer Derek Kessinger.

Can I watch a replay of the production?: Yes, complete replays of the production will be available about 24 hours after each race night. The links are available on the live video page or here.
