The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series suspended driver Vic Hill of Mosheim, Tenn., for five races and slapped his team with fines of more than $8,000 after Hill’s second offense for using chemically altered tires at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn.

Hill and Billy Ogle Jr. of Knoxville, Tenn., who faces his first offense, were penalized based on tire samples taken from June 18-19 series action at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn.

He’s also subject to the $510 cost of the lab testing and his $1,400 in earnings for a seventh-place finish at Volunteer will be redistributed.

Ogle’s infraction brings a $1,500 fine, loss of 300 points and testing costs of $2,250. He’ll also be required to return the $700 in earnings for the opening night of the Scorcher 100.
