What won the race: Polesitter Max Blair of Centerville, Pa., captured Saturday's USMC Corp. Jason Dunham Memorial at McKean County Raceway's Fall Classic for his second Sweeney Chevrolet RUSH tour victory of the season. The Crate Late Model victory paid $1,500.
Quotable: "With five to go it felt like the driveshaft broke getting into (turn) one and I picked the throttle up and it started to run again," Blair said. "Then down the backstretch all my gauges were out so the battery must have went bad or some electrical issue. I shut my helmet fan off the last five laps. It was only half running down the frontstretch so I didn't know if I was even going to finish, let alone win the race so that's pretty awesome."
Key notes: Blair notched his 36th victory of the season in just his third RUSH touring series start of the year. ... The race was condensed from a two-day $2,500-to-win event to a Saturday-only $1,500-to-win event after Friday's rain. ...The feature was slowed by a handful of cautions, including a mid-race pileup involving Brad Mesler, Bryce Davis and Jason Knowles. ... The race took the name of Friday's rained out ULMS event, the USMC Corp. Jason Dunham Memorial. ... John Waters won Thursday's non-touring Crate Late Model feature Thursday at McKean County (when Max Blair didn't compete); Waters finished second Saturday.
On the move: Paul Grigsby of Springville, N.Y., started 12th and finished fifth.
Winner's sponsors: Blair’s Rocket Chassis is sponsored by Specialty Products, R&J Poultry Electrical Contractor, Murphy’s Logging, Moody & Son Welding, Hicktown Farms, D.L. Anderson Builder and Remodeler, and C and J Dairy.
Points chase: Bryce Davis has 866 points to lead John Waters (858), Jeremy Wonderling (833), Jason Knowles (787) and Brian Knowles (777).
