Chris Wall collected his first career Comp Cams series win.
What won the race: Chris Wall of Holden, La., emerged victorious in Saturday night's Comp Cams Super Dirt Series feature at Jackson Motor Speedway. Winning the race from his outside front row starting spot, Wall's $2,500 triumph came by 0.690 of a second over runner-up Jack Sullivan of Greenbrier, Ark.
Key notes: The victory was Wall's first-ever on the Comp Cams Super Dirt Series. The driver known as the 'Intimigator' also ended an extended absence from victory lane; his last win came in an Aug. 16, 2014, Mississippi State Championship Challenge Series event at Jackson. ... Wall returned to competition on a limited basis earlier this season with car owner David Burkhalter after making just a single start in 2016. ... Robert Baker earned hard-luck recognition after mechanical forced him to scratch from the program. ... David Breazeale of Four Corners, Miss., won on Friday as the series opened the weekend at Crowley’s Ridge Raceway in Paragould, Ark. He was also a first-time Comp Cams victor. ... The tour will wrap up the holiday weekend Sunday at Greenville (Miss.) Speedway.
On the move: Tenth-starting B.J. Robinson of Bossier City, La., finished third.
Winner's sponsors: Wall’s David Burkhalter-owned Black Diamond Race Car carries a Wall2Wall Performance Engine and sponsorship from Stuckey Enterprises, PRP Suspension, Xtreme Graphics by Jrod, Wall2Wall Performance Engines and C&M Gator Farm.
Points chase: Entering the weekend with an 84-point lead in the series standings, Jack Sullivan padded his advantage over Garrett Alberson with his runner-up finish.
