What won the race: After a close battle for the lead, polesitter Mike Pegher Jr. of Wexford, Pa., pulled ahead, besting fellow front row starter Dave Lyon of Corry, Pa., to capture a $2,000 RUSH victory at NAPA Wayne County Speedway.
Quotable: "The track was very racey," Pegher said. "You could race on the bottom, middle, and outside. I knew I was pretty good on the bottom, but then Lyon rolled me on the outside those first few laps so I drove really, really hard to get back around him. It was one of those races you really didn't know where to go until someone passed you. Then you'd have to drive hard to get back around them. I was afraid of restarting on the outside. It was slippery up there. If I hit my marks on the bottom, I could drive hard down by the yuke tires and felt like I could pull good off the corners. All in all it was good racing."
Key notes: Pegher Jr. scored his first series victory of the season and his first career Wayne County victory; he has six career RUSH tour victories ... Josh Stocia spun to draw a caution on lap 10. ... A yellow flag waved when Brian Swank spun on lap 19. ... Stocia drew a second caution when he spun on lap 22. ... Fourth-place finisher John Waters swept the last two series events at Humberstone Speedway and Merrittville Speedway. ... Matt Aber crossed the finish line fifth, but was disqualified for weighing in light at the scales. ... RUSH competitors will travel to Eriez Speedway on Sunday for a $2,000-to-win event.
On the move: Ryan Markham of Ashland, Ohio, advanced from the seventh starting spot to finish third.
