What won the race: Steve Drake of San Luis Obispo, Calif., earned $3,000 for capturing the finale of Bakersfield Speedway's 30th annual Budweiser Nationals. Drake took the checkers ahead of last year's winner Bobby Hogge IV of Salinas, Calif., and Nick Bartels of El Segundo, Calif.
Key notes: Drake is a former Bakersfield winner with the West Coast Late Model Shootout, a tour on which he owns two championships. ... Tony Toste won Friday's weekend opener, earning $2,000; he was fourth Saturday. ... The 30th annual Budweiser Nationals closed the 70th season at Bakersfield.
